BGA socket offers 0.8-mm pitch

The CG-BGA-4010 socket for 0.8-mm-pitch BGA 194-pin ICs is designed for 12 x 12-mm package sizes, allowing inductors, resistors and decoupling capacitors to be placed very close to the device for impedance tuning. The socket operates at bandwidths up to 6.5 GHz with less than 1 dB of insertion loss. Per pin, typical contact resistance is 20 mΩ, capacitance to ground is 0.028 pF, and current capacity is 2 A.

Temperature range is –35° to 100°C, with 0.11-nH pin self inductance and mutual inductance of 0.028 nH. The socket has an easy-open clamshell lid with integrated heat-sinking mechanism. Mounting requires supplied hardware on the target PCB with no soldering. (From $544 each — available now.)
