The SM-BGA-9006 socket, designed for 16 x 16-mm packages, operates at bandwidths up to 40 GHz with less than 1 dB of insertion loss. Made of a unique elastomer, the socket addresses high speed, low inductance, high endurance, and wide-temperature applications.
The socket can be customized up to 100 W with a modified fin design on the top of the compression screw and by adding an axial flow fan. Contact resistance is 15 mΩ/pin. Mounted on a target PCB without soldering, the socket uses the industry’s smallest footprint: only 2.5 mm more on each side. Constructed with a shoulder screw and swivel lid, ICs can be changed out rapidly. (From $1,727 — available now.)
