BGA socket saves board space

Able to be mounted on target PCBs with no soldering and minimal footprint, the SG-BGA-6230 socket for 1.0-mm-pitch BGA 1,156-pin ICs is designed for a 35 x 35-mm package and operates at bandwidths to 8 GHz with less than 1 dB of insertion loss. Constructed with a low-inductance elastomer contactor, the socket can handle to 100 W with custom heat sink and connects all pins with 10-GHz bandwidth on all connections.

The socket has a contact resistance of 20 mΩ typ per pin, an operating temperature range of –40° to 100°C, pin self-inductance of 0.11 nH, and a mutual inductance of 0.028 nH. Capacitance to ground is 0.028 pF, and current capacity is 5 A per pin. ($1,009 — available now.)
