BGA socket works with Agilent probe

Offered in a 12- x 12-mm, 0.5-mm-pitch, 168-FBGA package, the SG-BGA-7182 stacked socket is designed for 1-Gbit Mobile DDR2-S4 SDRAM. Agilent’s Flex Probe can be stacked inside the socket and used to probe 1-Gb memory devices, making contact with the target PCB through the 0.5-mm-thick high-density elastomer contact.

The socket connects all pins with 10 GHz bandwidth on all connections, offering typical contact resistance of 20 mΩ per I/O, with 0.01-pF capacitance to ground and 2 A current capacity per pin. Pin self inductance is 0.11 nH, mutual inductance is 0.025 nH, and operating temperature range is –35° to 100°C. (Socket without probe, $1,543 each — available now.)
