Bidirectional, symmetrical 1 µA CSA is industry’s first

Offered to be the first of its kind, the TS1101 bidirectional, symmetrical, high-side current-sense amplifier (CSA) consumes only 1 µA — claimed a 30x reduction over the closest competing product. The CSA eliminates the “dead band” when switching from measuring battery discharge to measuring battery charge. This simplifies design while reducing power, saving board space and improving system accuracy.

The device further improves system accuracy with input offset voltage guaranteed to be 100 µV, a 4x improvement over the closest competing part. The TS1101 is available in four gain options from 25 V/V to 200 V/V, enabling users to choose the best gain option for their application. Housed in a 6-lead SOT23 package, the part offers a low gain error of less than 0.6% maximum. and a wide input common mode range of 2 to 25 V. It is specified over the extended temperature range of –40° to 105°C. ($0.94 ea/1,000 — available now)
