The TB9081FG brushless DC motor pre-driver IC is intended for automotive electric power steering control and is designed to be compliant to Automotive Safety Integrity Level D (ASIL D) of ISO26262. The IC includes a three-phase pre-driver, a fail-safe relay pre-driver, a charge pump, and motor current detection.
The chip features 11 pre-driver channels (six motor, five relay) with PWM control to 20 kHz, battery over/under voltage detection, VCC over/under detection, over temperature detection, and FET short detection. The ICs fail-safe circuits drive the solid state relay connections between the motor and MOSFET and between the power-supply and MOSFET. It operates from 4.5 to 18 V over -40° to 125°C. Samples now, production August 2017.
