Said to be the smallest 1-W LEDs for backlighting LCD panels, OSLON LX LEDs measure just 3 x 3 x 1.6 mm and are available in multi-white and ultra-white versions. The ThinGaN units are designed for side injection into light guides only 2 to 4 mm thick, thus allowing manufacture of displays with ultrathin profiles.
An optimized integrated polynomial lens with a beam angle of 125° allows light to be injected with efficiency of almost 80%. The multi-white version (High Color Gamut White) covers 100% of the sRGB color space and has a typical light output of 75 lm at 350 mA.
