Board connector for fast rise times A board-to-board connector combines
flexible etched circuitry and canted coil springs to create custom
connectors able to handle subnanosecond rise times and densities
approaching 160 signal lines per inch. It can be configured for
right-angle motherboard-to-daughterboard and stacking parallel board
interconnection. The basic connector has modular housing segments
assembled on a rigid metal core. Flexible etched circuitry is wrapped and
welded around the segments where the coil springs are placed. The
connector has 0.050-in. centers and is available with a choice of contact
geometries and platings. ($0.10 to $0.30 per line–6 to 12 weeks ARO.)
