Board-to-board pogo pins suit harsh, long-life apps

With exceptional mechanical and electrical performance (up to 10,000 cycles), the 70-9150 Series single pogo pin board-to-board (BTB) contacts provide affordable, off-the-shelf connector solutions for a broad range of commercial, industrial, medical, and military applications. Available in five standard compressed stacking heights (1.9 to 2.3 mm, 2.4 to 2.8 mm, 2.9 to 3.4 mm, 3.9 to 4.5 mm, and 4.9 to 5.5 mm) with a miniature 1.5-mm diameter plunger, the SMT contacts offer designers flexibility with regard to pin count and placement location.

The contacts are designed to mate with gold-plated PCB pads or flat contacts in docking/cradle applications for charging, programming, or transferring data to mobile devices. The contacts are rated for −40°C to +125°C operating temperatures and 1A current; voltage rating depends on placement distance. RoHS-compliant, the devices have brass contacts with gold-over-nickel plating and SUS 304 grade stainless steel springs with a nominal 60g per contact. Lead time is stock to nine weeks.
