Body Dryer offers environmentally friendly way to dry off without using bacteria-laced bath towels

Technology was enormous success on Kickstarter, and will now move on to manufacturing

Last month, Tyler Overk and his team of researchers and engineers achieved a terrific feat—they achieved their funding goal on crowd funding site Indiegogo . . . five times over.

Their product: a body dryer that promises to not only dry one’s body in 30 seconds, but also be affordable enough that the average consumer can afford to have it in their home.

The Body Dryer’s overall purpose is to offer today’s environmentally-conscious consumer an alternative, more earth-friendly way of drying up after getting out of the shower / pool. Their solution was a device that looks, more or less, like a weight scale which, amusingly enough, it doubles as.

Body Dryer and scale

The Body Dryer can service individuals up to 325 pounds, and according to Overk and his Body Dryer team, can completely dry a damp individual in 30 seconds. It’s able to do this by vertically blowing compressed, ionized air at the individual vis-à-vis strategically angled vents, specially designed for optimal removal of the water.

The air stream was designed to be adjustable, and the individual can change the direction of the stream through the different shaped nozzles on the footplate so as to develop a cylindrical tunnel of air around the user.

Worth noting: there’s also an option for hot or cold air, and as mentioned earlier, the individual can check their weight while standing atop the device.

The Body Dryer is expected to retail for $250 when it comes to market.
