Boost converter delivers 42 V from 0.9-V input

The AS1344 high-voltage dc/dc boost converter is optimized for biasing photodiodes, LCDs, or PMOLEDs powered from single-cell batteries or microphones, photodiodes, or LED strings requiring high voltages. A 15-V output voltage delivers 120 mA from a 3-V input voltage or 28 mA from a 1.5-V input voltage. The converter operates from a single 0.9 to 3.6-V supply and provides adjustable output voltages from 5.5 to 42 V. It uses a 1-MHz fixed switching frequency to help minimize the footprint

The boost converter also offers an automatic power save operation and it reduces the operating supply current to 22 µA. It provides a 1-µA shutdown mode and an output disconnect feature. The adjustable soft-start feature limits the input current during startup. The device offers 2% output voltage accuracy and a power-ok feature. ($1.13 ea/1,000 — available now.)
