The SC120, SC121, and SC122 converters boost inputs from as low as 0.7 V to a regulated output settable from 1.8 to 5.0 V. Available in 1.5 x 2 x 0.6-mm plastic packages, the devices suit portable applications powered by alkaline, NiMH, or 1-cell Li-ion batteries, or as PoL regulators in non-portable applications.
The SC12x boost converters feature internal synchronous rectifiers for up to 94% efficiency and 1.2-MHz PWM switching. The SC120 offers PWM with automatic PSAVE, the SC121 has forced-PWM at all loads, and the SC122 features forced-PSAVE. They have 0.1-µA shutdown with body-diode reversal, antiringing circuitry, and soft-start, current-limit, and thermal-shutdown protection.
