Bourns, Inc. has expanded its power inductor line with three new series of semi-shielded power inductors. The SRN3030HA, SRN4030HA, and SRN5030HA are AEC-200 compliant, featuring high current capacity, low loss, high operating frequency, and high operating temperature.
Each series offers different heating current ratings with saturation currents from 5 A to 10 A. Both Model SRN3040HA and SRN4030HA series offer an inductance ranges of 1-100 μH, and the SRN5030HA supplies a range of 0.47-100 μH. High Q values of 13 to 33 are possible, said Bourns, which provide high impedance at resonance frequency in combination with low loss operation.
The high temperature-graded materials used in all three series achieve a 150°C operating temperature rating and provide a wide operating temperature range of –55°C to 150°C. Key applications include high reliability power conversion solutions for EMI filtering, DC/DC converters, and power supplies in consumer, industrial, and telecom electronics.
In addition, the power inductors have a magnetic-silica based coating applied to the perimeter of the winding, which is said to enhance the inductors’ shielding and reduce magnetic field radiation compared to non-shielded options. The semi-shielded construction also contributes to a lower component cost compared to similarly-sized conventional ferrite-shielded inductors, said Bourns. The power inductors are RoHS compliant and halogen-free.
Bourns recently introduced the Model SRN2012T semi-shielded power inductor series that features a wirewound construction on a ferrite core to offer high inductance and Q values.
