The EC 40 brushless dc motor uses neodymium permanent magnets and has a stainless-steel housing with welded flanges. It has a very flat speed/torque gradient (about 3.6 rpm/mNm), a mechanical time constant of 0.1 ms, and a body length of 80 mm.
The motor features stall torque of up to 9,700 mNm, no load speed of 9,400 rpm, and 89% efficiency. It uses 15, 24, 42, or 48 V at up to 170 W, and encoders, gears, or the AB 32 permanent magnet brake may be added. The unit’s ironless winding offers extra quiet running and high stall torque.
