Buck controllers suit telecom apps

The ISL9443 and ISL9444 three-channel synchronous step-down controllers target telecom and networking devices, internet gateways, cable modems, fiber optic modems, satellite set-top-boxes and various industrial applications. They incorporate three independent synchronous buck controllers with enable, tracking, and sequencing features.

Available in a 32-pin 5 x 5-mm QFN packages, the buck controllers have a 180° out-of-phase operation and internal compensation to minimize ripple and reduce the need for external components. With an integrated 5-V bias LDO, they can operate from 4.5 to 26−VIN range. The output voltage can be programmed from 0.7 to 90% of VIN. Diode emulation mode with pulse-skipping optimizes light-load efficiency and reduces standby current to 30 µA. The switching frequency is programmable from 200 kHz to 1.2 MHz.
