Camera uses layered 5-Mpixel image sensor

The CSF5M7C3L18NR is a remote-head FireWire B camera that uses a 5-Mpixel Foveon X3 3 layered CMOS sensor. The Foveon sensor’s stacked color pixels provide better color registration and sharpness in luminanace and chrominance than 3CCD sensors, as well as freedom from color aliasing artifacts.

The camera has a 29-mm remote head with 3-m cable for space-restricted environments and takes 7 fps at the full 1,400 x 1,000 resolution and 25 fps at 700 x 500. Binning (2 x 2) improves the frame rate and sensitivity, and the FireWire B interface provides a max transfer rate of 800 Mbits/s. (Contact Doug Freck for pricing and availability.)
