The TJA1145 CAN transceiver supports partial networking, which can save energy and raise fuel economy in cars. Partial networking allows automotive control unit nodes to go into a low-power mode, without bus traffic, when not in use. Many accessories such as seat positioning and sun-roof operation are used infrequently.
Some automobiles have as may as 100 CAN nodes, so use of the ISO 11898-6 compliant transceiver can save considerable power. The IC supports operation with and without selective wake-up function and also delivers high EMI robustness and low EME. (Price not determined — samples available now.)
