Chip handles host-side crypto authentication
The AT88SA10HS host-side cryptographic authentication IC offloads key storage and execution of authentication algorithms from a system MCU. The device has a 48-bit unique serial number, a SHA-256 engine, and a 256-bit host key that is inaccessible and unreadable. The chip takes 100 nA in sleep mode.
The 3-pin SOT-23-packaged IC executes all host-side operations including challenge/response, validation, and firmware integrity verification. It has 63 one-time user-programmable fuses that are used to store a secret personalization value and 23 fuses that can be used for status or model number information. ($0.72 ea/1,000 available now.)
