The RNCS series passivated-Nichrome thin-film precision chip resistor provides an impervious barrier to moisture, eliminating the moisture corrosion and degradation of standard Nichrome elements. Tests performed for 3,000 hours show that the device performs equally well compared to TaN solutions.
Available in sizes ranging from 0402 to 2512, the RNCS has tolerances to 0.1%, TCRs as low as 15 ppm, and resistance values varying with size and tolerance from 10 Ω to 1 MΩ. (From $0.016 to $0.23 in full reel quantities — 6 to 8 weeks ARO.)
