Parts reduce car audio system cost by up to 50%
The TAS5412 and TAS5422 Class D audio amplifiers offer greater integration and channel flexibility and are claimed to save up to 50% system cost over current solutions when designed into automotive head unit and external amplifier applications. In addition, both parts are designed to operate in car audio systems without a microcontroller.
The TAS5412 provides single-ended inputs and the TAS5422 offers differential inputs. Features include an output power of 100 W, an input supply from 8 to 24 V, a half-power THD+N of 0.047 kHz, a quiescent current per channel of 40 mA, and a PSRR of 75 dB.
The parts are housed in 64-pin HTQFP packages, offer two speaker channels, and operate from −40° to 105°C. Both amplifiers are scheduled for AEC-Q100 qualification. (Ea/1,000: TAS5412, $5.30; TAS5422, $5.80 — samples available now.)
