Clock multiplier offers 5-ps period jitter

Available in a TSSOP-16 package, the NB3N3020 programmable clock multiplier can generate up to 26 different clock frequencies from a single-input source on its LVPECL/ LVCMOS output. The device has a period jitter of 5 ps and an output frequency range from 8 to 210 MHz.

The part takes a 5.0 to 27-MHz fundamental mode parallel resonant crystal or a 2.0 to 210-MHz LVCMOS single-ended clock source and generates a differential LVPECL output and a single-ended LVCMOS output at a selectable clock output frequency that is a multiple of the input clock frequency. The LVCMOS output enable tri-state clock outputs when low, allowing system designers to control the presence of clock timing in their systems. ($3.50 — available now.)
