Code Composer Studio gets significant updates

Version 6 of the Code Composer Studio integrated development environment (IDE) for all Texas Instrument microcontrollers includes significant updates. The tool is based on the industry-standard, open-source Eclipse software framework. It now includes an innovative “App Center” along with enhanced learning tools such as Optimizer Assistant and Ultra-Low Power Advisor for improve performance, reduced code size, and lower power consumption.

The software has a new “simple mode” that lets developers strip down the user interface to essential functionality, allowing new users to get comfortable with the development environment quickly. The package has an advanced editor with code completion, code folding, local history of source changes, markers, and the ability to associate tasks with source lines – plus tools for multi-processor debugging.
