Color-detection sensor aims at high-speed apps

Intended for industrial automation applications, the O5C500 color identification sensor can verify, sort, and error-proof objects by color. A switching frequency of 2,000 Hz provides accurate color detection in high-speed production environments.

The sensor emits RGB light pulses and evaluates light reflected from the target to identify the object’s color. The unit offers five selectable tolerance steps to permit detection of even slight color differences, a one-step teach function to establish detection parameters, and an auto-detect output. The unit’s sensing range is adjustable from 15 to 19 mm. ($325 — available now).
