Colored jacks prevent mismating
Available in five colors, colored modular jacks make it unlikely that the
wrong wires are plugged. The jacks are available with straight or coil
cords with polypropylene insulation and a PVC jacket. Performance
characteristics common to both include a current rating of 1.5 A, an
insulation resistance of 100 ohms, and dielectric strength of 500 V.
Contacts are copper alloy with gold plating. (Typical configuration, $2 to
