Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. has introduced a new commercial IHLP low-profile, high-current inductor, claiming the industry’s first composite inductor in the 19 × 19 × 7 mm, 7575 case size. The Vishay Dale IHLP 7575GZ-51 offers up to 30% lower direct current resistance (DCR) and up to 35% higher current ratings than devices in the 6767 case size, at a 50% lower cost than devices in the 8787 case, said the company.
Offering high temperature operation up to 155°C for computer, telecom, and industrial applications, the latest addition to the IHLP inductor family targets energy storage in DC/DC converters up to 2 MHz and high-current filtering applications up to the self-resonant frequency (SRF) of the inductor. Applications include notebooks, desktops, and servers; low-profile, high-current power supplies; POL converters, battery-powered devices, distributed power systems, and FPGAs.
Key specifications include an inductance range of 0.56 to 33 µH and an SRF range of 4.4 to 50 MHz. The typical DCR is 1.02 to 25.2 mΩ and 1.09 to 27 mΩ maximum. The operating temperature range is -55°C to 155°C.
The IHLP-7575GZ-51 is packaged in a 100% lead (Pb)-free shielded, composite construction that is said to reduce buzz noise to ultra-low levels. It features high resistance to thermal shock, moisture, and mechanical shock and handles high transient current spikes without saturation. The device is RoHS-compliant, halogen-free, and Vishay Green.
Samples and production quantities of the IHLP-7575GZ-51 are available now, with lead times of 10 weeks. Pricing starts at $1.99 each in quantities of 10,000 for U.S. delivery only.
Other high-temperature IHLP inductors include the automotive-qualified IHLP-1212AZ-5A , IHLP-1212BZ-A1 , and IHLP-1212BZ-5A.
