Littelfuse, Inc., the global leader in circuit protection, has introduced a new series of AEC-Q101 qualified Transient Voltage Suppression (TVS) Diodes designed specifically to protect sensitive automotive electronic equipment from voltage transients induced by load dump and other transient voltage events. TPSMF4L Series TVS Diodes offer 400W of peak pulse power dissipation in a compact, surface mount, flat-lead SOD-123FL plastic package with a height profile of just 0.98mm.
TPSMF4L Series TVS Diodes are best-suited for DC power protection and ESD protection in automotive electronics like electronic control units, sensors, entertainment systems, and body control modules (BCMs), and for portable devices that require high reliability such as hard drives, notebooks, VCC busses, POS terminals, SSDs, power supplies, monitors and other consumer applications.
“The TPSMF4L Series brings a unique combination of advantages to automotive electronics protection,” said Charlie Cai, product manager for the TPSMF4L Series TVS Diode line. “In addition to its AED-Q101 qualification, it offers circuit designers a very small footprint, a low height profile, and high power rating of 400W, so it’s ideal for applications that require lots of protection in a small space.”
TPSMF4L Series TVS Diodes offer these key benefits:
• They offer 400W @ 10/1000μs peak pulse power dissipation capability in a very small footprint (SOD-123FL).
• The small and flat-lead plastic package is compatible with the automotive standard (AEC-Q101) but is just 0.98mm (max.), so it’s well-suited for use in compact designs in automotive electronics and portable devices.
• Standard voltage ranges from 5V to 85V are available, so designers can easily choose the most suitable part for their design and applications.
• They comply with 61000-4-2 and IEC 61000-4-4 standards to help circuit designers meet global regulatory standards.
