The high-power BM24 Series board-to-flex-printed-circuit (FPC) hybrid power and signal connector features a unique, space-saving design that concentrates power lines into two power contacts instead of the conventional, more costly multiple signal contact method. The connector’s power contacts are rated up to 5 A per line and the signal contacts are rated to 0.25 A per line. Not only does the connector system ensure a temperature rise of less than 30°C when carrying 5 A, it supports USB 3.1 Gen 2 (10 Gb/s) transmission.
The 10-position model has 10 signal pins and 2 power pins, and dimensions of just 2.3 x 5.25 x 0.8 mm with a lead pitch of 0.35 mm. Regardless of the number of positions it has, each connector in the series features two power pins to provide ruggedized connectivity resistant to shock and vibration. Other connector specs are: 30-Vac/dc rated voltage, 15-mΩ-max power-contact resistance, 100-mΩ-max signal-contact resistance, 100-MΩ-min insulation resistance, and -40°C-to-85°C operating temperature.
