Bourns Inc. has released five new bridge rectifiers for switch-mode power supply (SMPS) applications, and these devices come in an ultra-low size package of 1.0 x 1.4 mm, making them highly suitable devices for use in high-density board designs.
Furthermore, the package can be mounted onto the bottom side of PCB assembly when necessary. The availability of bridge rectifiers in a compact package allows designers to meet high-efficiency energy requirements while avoiding the need to specify larger diodes for higher-current applications.
The Bourns Model CD-MBL and Model CD-DF4 bridge rectifiers feature high forward current and low forward voltage, making them optimum solutions for ac/dc power applications. On the other hand, the Bourns Model CD-HD Schottky bridge rectifiers ensure low forward voltage in a space-saving package, enabling designers of set-top boxes, monitors, cable modems, and other ac-operated devices to achieve power-efficient designs.
All five new bridge rectifier series from Bourns — CD-MBL1xx, CD-MBL2xx, CD-DF4xx, CD-HD0x Series, and CD-HD2x — are RoHS-compliant. The Bourns Model CD-MBL series of bridge rectifiers are priced from $0.14 to $0.23 in 12,000-piece quantities. Next, the Model CD-DF series is priced from $0.40 to $0.50 in 12,000-piece quantities. Finally, the Model CD-HD series of Schottky bridge rectifiers are priced from $0.24 to $0.48 in 15,000-piece quantities.
