A series of positive and negative SMT coin-cell contacts are said to require minimal board space, yet still allow users to easily insert or remove a coin-cell battery in a battery enclosure. Manufactured from gold-plated stainless steel, the low-contact-resistance contacts help ensure easy reflow soldering and reliable solder joints. The contacts’ ultra-low profile and compact design suit them for such applications as small handheld controls, key fobs, personal medical devices, and digital timers.
Positive contacts are available for use with 12- to 23-mm coin cells (catalog no. 120), 16- to 30-mm coin cells (catalog no. 110), and 20- to 24-mm coin cells (catalog no. 122); negative contacts are available for 12- to 16-mm coin cells (catalog no. 118) and 16- to 30-mm coin cells (catalog no. 112). The spring tension adjusts to cell height variations from 1.2 to 7.7 mm. Contacts are available on reel and tape for use with most vacuum and mechanical pick-and-place assembly systems.
