Compact UPS targets optical network terminals

The MX1236, MP128-L1, and MP1218-P uninterruptible power supplies suit 12-Vdc powered optical network terminals (ONTs), suit any 12-Vdc application where dc-power and battery back-up is required. They provide three alarm features, including ONT reset and cold start functions along with overvoltage protection and EMI/RFI filtering. These UPS devices use Li-Ion batteries with integrated battery management systems for long-life and safe operation. The units can accept 50 / 60 Hz power inputs from 100 to 240 Vac.

The MX1236 UPS series offers a low-profile design where the dc-supply and Li-ion battery pack can be stacked, and can accept up to three battery packs for additional back-up capacity. This dc-power supply provides a nominal dc-output of 12 V / 3.0 A. During a power failure, the replaceable LI-ion battery pack is capable of providing up to 10-h back-up capacity at 8 W. The MP1218-L1 series provides a constant supply of dc power and additionally provides battery back-up power. The dc power supply provides a nominal dc-output of 12 V / 1.5 A. It delivers the small size and flexibility required for current GPON installations. The Model MP1218-P series suits 12-Vdc optical network terminals but can be used in any 12 Vdc application where a dc power supply is required such as VoIP, FTTH and video.
