Connector protects against high voltages in hybrid/electric vehicles
The APD 1-way connector features a plastic cap to protects the user’s fingers in high voltage and maximum power applications, such as hybrid and electric vehicles. The connectors are recent additions to the APC circular connector family.
Rated to 400 Vdc when mated, the connectors can handle voltages to 630 Vdc based on normative regulations (the connector must not be mated or unmated under load). They also offer current ratings to 245 A at 25°C.
The connector receptacles mate with standard APD 1-way plugs and incorporate ITT ICS’ proprietary APD contact, crimp and coupling nut system. Pin contacts are available with standard crimp and additional screw or bolt terminations. The connectors suit cable cross-sections from 16mm² to 50mm² . The connector’s standards and specifications are in accordance with DIN 72585, and it is also sealed to IP 67 and IP 69K sealing to withstand elements in harsh environments.
