The AirMax VS high-performance connector system now offers configurations with high-speed interconnect channels to support blade server platforms. These platforms include PCI Express Gen 2, Infiniband, Fibre Channel, and IEEE802.3ap-2007 “Backplane Ethernet” (1000BASE-KX, 10GBASE-KX4, or 10GBASE-KR).
The high-speed signal connectors, guide modules, and power connectors suit connections to compute blade modules, compute blade mezzanine modules, or a chassis management module (CMM) to a midplane in a SSI modular blade server chassis. A short-detect contact in the signal connectors allows hot-swap insertion and removal of compute blade and CMM modules. ($0.20 per mated pair available now.)
