Connectors tackle underwater conditions

The CIR Marine Bronze Series connectors withstand harsh underwater environments, including marine and naval applications. The connectors meet IP67 specifications when mated, and are manufactured from an aluminium-bronze alloy that contains iron, nickel, manganese, and lead, making them resistant to rust and corrosion. The units feature fast and audible snap-in coupling/uncoupling for up to 2,000 mating cycles. and have an operating temperature range of –55° to 125°C. The units resist shock and vibration, and connection integrity is unaffected by contaminants such as dust and sand.

They are available with 1 to 159 poles and with cable sections ranging from 0.15 to 107 mm2 . Fully RoHS compliant, the devices come in three different types: CIR Marine Bronze Bayonet (which meets NATO standard VG 95234 and features bayonet lock); VGE Series (which meets NATO standard VG 96929); and the VE-VS Marine Bronze Threaded Series (which meets the MIL-DTL-5015 standard).
