The LAN9512 and LAN9514 controllers provide a dual or quad Hi-Speed USB 2.0 hub and a 10/100 Ethernet controller in one chip. The ICs have an Ethernet full-duplex MAC and PHY, with HP-Auto MDIX support. They have two or four 480-Mbit/s downstream USB PHYs, with programmable drive strength and a single USB upstream PHY.
The devices come in a 9 x 9-mm QFN64 package and provide a power saving function that allows the host CPU to enter a low-power state when the Ethernet connection is inactive. ($2.74 to $3.21 ea/10,000 samples available now.)
