Converter dev tools suit embedded power

A quarter-brick isolated dc/dc converter evaluation board and reference design features the National Semiconductor LM5035C PWM controller and the Silicon Labs Si8420 ISOpro digital isolator. The evaluation board provides a 100-W reference design in a quarter-brick form factor. The PWM controller has an integrated bias regulator, 2-A gate drivers, and synchronous rectifier controls. The SyncFET outputs control the secondary-side synchronous rectifier MOSFETs through the digital isolator.

The reference design demonstrates a 36 to 75-V input half-bridge converter that suits power-module or embedded-power applications. It survives input transients up to 100 V and protects the power distribution system with hiccup-mode fault protection. The digital isolators employ digital RF technology to communicate data across an isolation barrier. ($135 each — available now.)
