Converters reduce components in DTVs

The 2-A TPS54283 and TPS54286 and 3-A TPS54383 and TPS54386 Swift converters support 4.5 to 28-V input and reduce component count in HDTV and STB applications. The converters switch outputs at 180 out-of-phase at 300 and 600 kHz to reduce input capacitance.

A sequencing pin enables selection of output ramping and allows both outputs to ramp ratiometrically. The converters provide 1.5% voltage accuracy for each output. They support three selectable levels of overcurrent protection, low on-resistance, and a thermal shutdown of 145°C, (Ea/1,000: TPS54283, TPS54286, $3.20; TPS54383, TPS54386, $3.40 — available now.)
