Used to couple collimated laser beams into an optical quartz fiber, an easily mounted fiber coupler has optics that can be positioned to focus laser light precisely into the fiber tip, thereby maximizing the power transferred. It is possible to couple laser beams with diameters 10 mm into fibers with core diameters ranging from 100 to 2,000 μm.
The fiber coupler is suitable for wavelengths from 400 to 1,300 nm, and the coupler's internal optics can be finished with different AR coatings: 400 to 700 nm, 633 to 1,064 nm, or 800 to 1300 nm. Adjustment screws allow x- and y-axis positioning as well as tilt; adjustment along the z-axis is accomplished with a knurled wheel.
