Crypto coprocessors speed data traffic

The C291, C292, C293 crypto coprocessors enable PCI-E card solutions providing more than 120K RSA 2048 operations/second and delivering more than 3x the performance of more expensive options currently available. The family accelerates RSA (up to 4k key sizes), Diffie Hellman, and Elliptical Curve Cryptography algorithms.

The 783-pin FC-PBGA packaged devices have 667-MHz, 1-GHz, or 1.2-GHz CPUs with 6-, 9-, or 12-Gbit/s bulk encryption capability. They take 4, 6, or 10 W and have 512 Kbytes of SRAM, a 16/32-bit DDR3/3L memory controller with ECC, and two GbE interfaces. (From $99 ea/10,000 — samples available Q1.)
