CUI recently unveiled a comprehensive line of MEMS microphones. A product of the CUI Audio Group, the CMM series is suited for portable electronic devices, offering improved audio quality, performance, and reliability.
The CMM series is small, with a low-profile footprint measuring 2.75 × 1.85 × 0.95 mm. The MEMS microphones are reflow solder-compatible, so they can be used in applications in which surface-mount assembly is required, making them suitable for audio recording and voice capture in smartphones, tablets, smart home devices, and wearables.
The MEMS microphones are omni-directional and come in both analog or digital pulse-density modulation output types, with top or bottom port locations. You can get the CMM series in rectangle or round form factors.
Key specs include a sensitivity rating from –44 dB to –26 dB, a signal-to-noise ratio from 57 dBA to 65 dBA, and reduced vibration sensitivity. The devices also have a low current draw (down to 80 µA) and an operating temperature range from –40°C to 105°C.
The microphones offer tight sensitivity tolerances as low as ±1 dB, which makes them a good choice for array applications that perform beam forming and noise cancellation. In addition, a unique inner chamber construction adds more stability and protection against outside elements like moisture and dust.
Available now, prices start at $0.45 each in quantities of 1,000 through the distribution channel. Please contact CUI for OEM pricing.
