Current-mode converter suits consumer apps

The A4403 3-A buck converter uses valley current-mode control to allow low switch-on times, suiting it for applications that require high switching frequencies combined with high-input voltages from 9 to 46 V, and output voltages from 0.8 to 15 V. It suits office automation, industrial, and consumer applications.

The buck converter uses switching frequencies of up to 2 MHz, and feed-forward control. An external resistor pulled up to the input supply programs the on-time. A user-configurable soft-start function helps minimize inrush current and to prevent output overshoot. A top-off charge pump is also provided to ensure correct operation at light loads.
