Current sensor offers 120-kHz bandwidth

The ACS710 120-kHz-bandwidth high-voltage isolation current sensor IC targets industrial, commercial, and communications systems. The device consists of a precision linear Hall sensor with a copper conduction path located near the surface of the silicon die. Features include a 3 to 5.5-V single-supply-operation 1-mΩ primary conductor resistance for low-power loss, and a user-adjustable overcurrent fault level.

Its overcurrent fault signal typically responds to an overcurrent condition in less than 2 µs. Also, the current conduction path is electrically isolated from the low voltage sensor inputs and outputs. The part is housed in 16-pin SOIC packages. ($2.13 ea/1,000 — 12 weeks ARO.)
