May 29, 2014 – Mouser Electronics, Inc. is now stocking the new Synchronous SRAMs from Cypress Semiconductor. These new Synchronous SRAMs are available in densities from 4 Megabit (Mbit) to as high as 144 Mbit and access times as fast as 450 picoseconds.
The new Cypress Synchronous SRAMs available from Mouser Electronics provide significant advantages to high speed microprocessor systems that need to see improvements in memory performance. While the fastest DRAMs still require at least five processor cycles to access the first bit of data, Cypress Synchronous SRAMs can operate at the same cycle speed as processors running at 250MHz and beyond. These SRAMs therefore target microprocessor cache memory applications, storing data that is available to the processor's full speed.
The Cypress Synchronous SRAM portfolio includes a variety of devices that target different applications. Standard Synchronous SRAMs offer a small footprint with high performance that can even be used to replace asynchronous SRAMs. No Bus Latency(NoBL) SRAMs eliminate the bus turnaround delay when switching between read and write operations, popular in networking and test equipment applications. Quadruple Data Rate (QDR®) SRAMs are the fastest Synchronous SRAMs, similar to NoBL SRAMs but with even faster speeds and dedicated read and write ports.
Cypress Synchronous SRAM devices are available in a variety of speeds, word widths, densities, and packages.
