Molex Inc. has introduced a D-sub earthing connector for secure connections that don’t require the use of special tools or specialist training. Designed for harsh environments, the connector meets IP66 and IP67 requirements and protects sensitive equipment such as telecommunications base stations against water ingress in the field in mated condition. The unmated connector also is IP-protected thanks to a cap attached to the connector.
The D-sub connector protects equipment from stray voltages through a secure and low-impedance connection to earth. The connector features a 40-A contact to an earth cable (8 AWG) with straight termination and a metal sealing frame for rear installation.
