Data converter handles BWs up to 240 MHz

The Model 71651 delivers more than twice the bandwidth of the company’s previous data converters, providing tuning bandwidths from 10 kHz to 240 MHz. A member of the Cobalt family of high-performance XMC modules, the converter is based on a Virtex-6 FPGA preconfigured with data acquisition and playback IP, giving turn-key functionality as well as room for user customization.

The card features two input and two output RF channels, transformer-coupled to allow direct connection to HF or IF radio stages. Input channels feature 12-bit, 500-MHz ADCs, while the output channels have a TI DAC5688 digital upconverter that translates real or complex baseband signals to any IF frequency up to 380 MHz. Dual 16-bit, 800-MHz DACs create real or in-phase (I) and quadrature (Q) analog outputs. PCIe, cPCI, VPX, and ruggedized, extended-temperature versions are also available. (From $13,745 — available 10-14 weeks ARO.)
