Dc converter offers alternative for DDR power
The EV1320 PoL dc/dc converter targets DDR memory termination power. It features a 2-A sink/source current and a peak efficiency of 96%. The device provides a 1.4-W power savings over traditional LDO regulator-based solutions. It suits ultrabook, server, solid state drive, and embedded computing module applications.
The dc/dc converter has an integrated memory controller voltage (VTT) converter that accepts input voltage from 1.2 to 1.8 V. The device is available in a 3 x 3 x 0.55–mm QFN–package and requires 80–mm2 PCB area for the total solution. Multiple devices can also be operated in parallel. It complies with JEDEC specifications for supporting DDR2/DDR3/QDR and low-power DDR3/DDR4 VTT applications. ($0.70 ea/1,000 — available now.)
