Dc/dc controllers with signal shaping reduce EMI
The AS12xx series of dc/dc controllers is configurable for flyback, forward, boost, or buck power topologies used in both isolated and nonisolated converter designs. Capable of providing up to 100 W, the devices’ current-mode architecture provide a fast-loop response and no-load power consumption. They feature an 8.5 to 57-V input range and used in consumer electronic equipment such as set-top boxes, LCD televisions, DVRs, printers, indoor Wi-Fi access points, and in industrial Ethernet, motor control, automotive power, and telematics subsystems.
The AS1228, AS1230, AS1257, and AS1260 dc/dc controllers integrate ESD and thermal protection, 100 to 500-kHz programmable PWM operation and programmable soft-start. FET gate drive signals that are shaped to minimize switching noise and improve EMI performance. The controllers provide >92% efficiency and are offered in 5 x 5-mm 20-lead QFN packages.
