The MC34063A dc/dc converter control chip contains a temperature-compensated
voltage reference, a comparator, and a duty-cycle-controlled oscillator,
as well as a 1.5-A output switch and associated driver. Specifications
include 3 to 40-V operation, a 2.5-mA current consumption, and operation
up to 100 kHz. The device is offered in 8-pin DIPs and SOPs. (From $0.60
