The AMSR-78Z series of non-isolated, dc/dc switching regulators provide regulated output voltages ranging from 1.5 to 15 Vdc, producing output currents of 500 mA at efficiency rates up to 97%. The regulators feature pin-to-pin replacement for 78xx linear regulators. The output ripple and noise of 60 mVp-p make the converters suitable for noise-sensitive applications.
The 6:1 input range extends from 4.75 to 34 Vdc and from 18 to 34 Vdc and can be powered from unregulated sources. The regulators are suitable for portable power and standby-power applications. They operate at full output power without heatsinking or forced-air cooling below 85C and operate continuously at full load without the need for load derating below 71C.
