Dc power relays use 70% less space

Cut noise in half in high-power battery applications

The G9E dc power relays feature a sealed, gas-filled construction that cools the arc created during switching—which can reduce the size of the contact gap to enable a 70% reduction in overall size compared to standard contactors. An added benefit is that the power relays can cut operating noise in half in high-power battery applications such as hybrid vehicles, fuel cells, wind and solar-power generation, battery-operated golf carts and forklifts, and industrial equipment.

The SPST normally open relays come in three versions. The G9EA measures 36 (W) x 73 (L) x 67.2 (H) mm and is rated to 60 A at 400 Vdc or 100 A at 120 Vdc. The G9EC measures 44 (W) x 98 (L) x 86.7 (H) mm and switches up to 200 A at 400 Vdc. The G9EB measures 25 (W) x 60 (L) x 58 (H) mm and switches up to 25 A at 250 Vdc.

Operating coil voltages include 12, 24, 48, 60, and 100 Vdc. Dielectric strength is 2,500 Vac and impulse-withstand is 4,500 V in temperatures from 40 to 70C. (G9EA, $110 to $140; G9EB, $99 to $103; G9EC, $220 to $240—stock to 8 weeks ARO.)
