The HMC799LP3E transimpedance amplifier (TIA) is designed to meet the requirements of optoelectronic laser sensors, FDDI receivers and receiver systems employing optical-to-electrical conversion. It provides a single-ended output voltage that is proportional to an applied current at its input port, typically provided by a photodiode.
Operating from a single 5-V supply, the part draws only 70 mA and features an input-referred noise of 150 nA rms over a 700-MHz analog bandwidth. Housed in a 16-lead SMT package, the device offers a dynamic range of 65 dB. In addition, the 10-kΩ or 80-dB-Ω transimpedance gain provides a very good sensitivity at higher data rates.
